Project RUSHMORE, launched August 18th, is the biggest, new-model launch in the history of the 110-year old company. Harley Davidson unveiled, not one, but EIGHT new tour-style bikes for their 2014 lineup. The new model lineup focuses on more power and braking performance, new body styling and enhanced comfort for riders who are in it for the long haul. The 2014 Project RUSHMORE lineup could revolutionize the road trip experience for touring motorcyclists everywhere.
Project RUSHMORE is a new line of touring bikes that were “built by all of us, for all of us” as the slogan goes at www.Harley-Davidson.com. H-D went on a mission to find out what really matters to riders and to design a bike to fit the future. They spent countless hours in the saddle, riding all over the world with other riders.
They set out to discover what riders dream about; to spur ideas for new innovations and to build the 8 new dream machines in a true Milwaukee Steel fashion. Thousands of riders shared their input through hundreds of test rides. The result is absolutely amazing.
Project RUSHMORE Bikes
- Road King® - a true king of the road feel with this cruiser-style combined with features for the long haul
- Street Glide® - a #1 bestseller in its class. Now more powerful and decked out with even more features for the long haul
- Street Glide® Special – this is a stripped-down bagger style, with modern technology and comfort
- Electra Glide® Ultra Classic® - H-D’s ultimate touring machine with all the bells and whistles
- Electra Glide® Ultra Limited – this is H-D’s top-of-the-line bagger. It just doesn’t get any better than this.
- Tri Glide® Ultra – all the comfort and features needed for the long haul, built on 3 wheels. Now THAT’S a lot of motorcycle!
- CVO™ Road King® - completely re-thought to include everything a rider needs with a classic style and long-haul comfort
You’ll find that each bike unveiled in Project RUSHMORE focuses on 4 key areas: Control, Infotainment, Feel and Style. Some of my favorite features include the new Boom!™ Box 6.5GT radio with voice recognition, full-color touch screen, built in GPS and music controls, the one-touch-to-open storage compartments, a new twin-vent front fairing, and the added depth and width of the passenger seat. You’ll also find larger compartment areas, classy looking LED headlamps and a twin-cooled, high output twin cam 103® engine. Plus, Harley-Davidson released their Electra Glide® Ultra Limited with an “Amber Whiskey” orange paint option, which, in my opinion, is a sweet looking color!
