Drill two 3/8" diameter holes in the frame using the two square holes in the lower bash plate as a template. Wear safety glasses when drilling to avoid injury. 7. Bolt the bash plate to the frame using the remaining 3/8 hardware in the holes you just drilled. 8. Mount your winch on top of the bumper or to the frame under the bumper by following the instructions that came with our winch. If you mount it below you will need to cut the rectangle in the bash plate with a hacksaw. Simply, cut the four tabs holding it into the bash plate.
If mounting a winch on top make sure the winch and bumper is all the way forward. If it is not the hood will not open completely. In other words, loosen the bolts an pull the bumper forward and then tighten them again.
