Cooter Brown Universal UTV Roof by EMP

Add style and function to your UTV with the Cooter Brown Universal UTV Roof. Thermoformed from thick 3/16 inch polyethylene, a very tough material used to make OEM fenders. Most plastic tops are made from thinner plastics. This "Cooter Brown" roof was designed to be the toughest on the market and will not crack like ABS.

GearUp2Go's Take on the Cooter Brown Universal UTV Roof

This is a light, easy to install roof that does a great job keeping the sun, rain and crud off of you! When out riding, if you want to be protected but still have the wind in your hair, a roof like EMP's Cooter Brown fits the bill perfectly. This roof from EMP is a great value but is still American made and ready for rugged use. Don't let the name confuse you, this is a black roof and a great one at that.

Patience Required Review by Steph

This is a bit tricky to assemble and get a good glue seal. First you need to read and follow the gluing instructions. It takes 72 hrs for the glue to fully mature. You can't just slam it together and immediately mount the roof, or the 3M tape will not stick. Here is how I was successful mounting on my 2002 Polaris 6x6 500 cc Professional Series UTV:

First remove any dust from the plastic where the long glue strip will attach.
To get the two halves to mate smoothly in the middle, you have to support the inner half of the roof with a 1/8-1/4 " shim. Assemble on a very large flat surface. Clamp fore and aft aligned with the three short adhesive strips. Use these to tack the roof during assembly
After clamping the roof, you need to carefully reach underneath and slowly expose the long glue strip.
Now leave the roof clamped and undisturbed for 3 days. The long glue strip will cure and your roof is ready to mount. (Posted on 7/2/2014)
Required Trimming, 2009 Rhino Review by Justin

Overall the roof looks and functions well. However, it did not line up correctly. The double-side tape did not work. The instructions indicate the roof can be used without hardware and just the tape. That is not the case, the tape did not stick at all. The 2 part sections do not meet flush at the ends. To make it look good, we had to trim the ends with a razor. Once trimmed, the edges were flush and looked good. (Posted on 2/4/2014)
